Scaling Global Campaigns with Pardot Advanced: A Manufacturing Success Story

Introduction

A 2D diagram showing a Salesforce Campaign Hierarchy connected to MCAE Static Lists. At the top is a “Parent Campaign” box, branching down to “Child Campaign A” and “Child Campaign B.” Each child campaign icon includes symbols for campaign members. An arrow points from the child campaigns to a box labeled “MCAE Static Lists,” which includes four bullet points: Targeted List 1, Targeted List 2, Targeted List 3, and Targeted List 4. The Salesforce logo is displayed in the top right corner.

In global manufacturing, scale and flexibility are everything. Our recent project with a multi-national manufacturing client focused on a key marketing challenge: enabling independent regional campaigns while maintaining centralized visibility and control.

Over a six-month engagement, we delivered a Salesforce and Pardot Advanced (MCAE) solution that empowered marketing teams around the world to execute localized campaigns, while rolling up platform performance into a single, unified view.

The Challenge: Decentralized Teams, Centralized Strategy

With marketing teams across multiple regions and product lines, our client needed:

  • The ability for teams to run their own campaigns autonomously
  • A way to roll-up campaign data into a central dashboard for executive reporting
  • Consistent and compliant use of campaign member data across regions
  • Streamlined segmentation and tracking using shared business logic

Fragmented data and lack of alignment across teams created inefficiencies and limited executive insights.

The Solution: Campaign Hierarchy, Targeted Lists & Data Sharing

Our approach was built around three key pillars: Salesforce Campaign Hierarchy, Campaign Member Management, and Marketing Data Sharing Rules.

1. Campaign Hierarchy Architecture

We defined a robust Parent-Child campaign structure, where:

  • Parent Campaigns represented global initiatives or major product launches
  • Child Campaigns allowed regional and product-specific teams to manage their own efforts independently

This gave teams autonomy while maintaining a central connection point for reporting.

2. Campaign Members & Statuses for Targeting

We enabled precise list targeting by:

  • Establishing consistent Campaign Member Statuses across all campaigns
  • Automating list segmentation in MCAE based on Campaign Membership and Status

Marketers could easily identify engaged leads, follow up appropriately, and personalize their messaging.

3. Marketing Data Sharing Rules

To maintain visibility without compromising data control, we implemented Marketing Data Sharing Rules, ensuring:

  • Teams only accessed the data relevant to their region or business unit
  • Executive teams retained a 360° view of marketing activity and performance

This balanced autonomy with governance—critical in large, global organizations.

Results: Global Scale, Local Agility

At the end of the project, our client had:

  • A fully functional Campaign Hierarchy system supporting dozens of independent marketing teams
  • Streamlined campaign list building and automation through MCAE
  • Clear, centralized reporting at the global campaign level
  • Improved compliance and reduced data silos across marketing teams

The solution empowered their teams to move faster, collaborate better, and demonstrate ROI more clearly.

Why This Matters

In complex global organizations, marketing success hinges on scalability and alignment. By architecting Pardot Advanced to work within a Salesforce Campaign Hierarchy and using structured member statuses, we helped this client deliver campaigns that are both locally relevant and globally trackable.

What’s Next

As a next step, the client is exploring:

  • Integrating engagement data with Data Cloud for even deeper segmentation
  • Leveraging Einstein for predictive lead scoring across regions
  • Automating campaign attribution for more granular ROI tracking
